A fun coffee table can be hard to find - sometimes they are just so boring and square and functional. We love them best when they become another feature in their own right, layered with cool accessories from style books to vases of flowers. If you have bright chairs, avoid going colorful (it will look too OTT). Instead opt for a pop of metallic, wood or a clear plastic design and then create interest and focus with what you put on the tabletop. If your chairs are neutral however, then you can go wild! The brighter and more bedazzling the better in our opinion. Empty they always look show home-like so remember to accessorize with abandonment. That’s when coffee tables really come into their own.

Jonathan Adler, Scalinatella Cocktail Table

There is simply nothing we don’t love about Jonathan Adler’s Scalinatella Table. The wavy legs bring instant fun to the room, while the chic white and gold colorway makes it looks amazing with almost any color palette.

Gae Aulenti for FontanaArte, Tavolo Con Ruote Coffee Table

It takes a bit of bravado to live with this iconic piece by Gae Aulenti, who believes strongly in the concept of surprise. The Italian architect and designer created the layout of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and the Palazzo Grassi in Venice so you are in very safe hands.

Kure, Nilsson Coffee Table

Want a beautifully designed piece that doesn’t hit you too hard financially? Let us introduce you to design brand Kure. This coffee table has us wanting to fill it with beautiful style books and objects d’art.

Heller, The Vignelli Cube

If you played it stylistically safe with your living space and now find yourself secretly envying other more daring, rooms- this piece will totally save you. We’d buy two (or even three in multiple colorways) and then stack them with cool fashion mags and cute candles.

Furniture, Arcadia Coffee Table

$349 (was $699)

Featuring 3 different tree trunk wood tops, this coffee table will bring an organic touch to the lounge space.  With an adjustable metal base, it can be heightened or lowered to match your sofa height too.

One Kings Lane, Riverstone Coffee Table, Gold

$1199 – 1799

Constructed to resemble a riverbank stone that's been worn smooth by the endless flow of the water, this glimmering table will push the style boundaries in your room.

Menu, Furniture End Table

A cool black coffee table never fails to elevate the style in a room. We love this option from Menu with monochrome accessories on top.

House of Hampton, Vesqueville Coffee Table

$2160 (was $2700)

Looking like a one off design piece, this honeycomb design from House of Hampton will not fail to make an impact.

Orient Express Furniture, Magnolia Eco Coffee Table

Made from reclaimed teak, we love the organic shape of the Magnolia Eco table. Perfect for a natural touch in a small city apartment.

Threshold, Linhigh Coffee Table Woven Wire

Looking way more high-end than the affordable price point, we love this woven wire piece to counterbalance a super bright sofa. It will pair well with anything though, it’s got distinct visual edge.
